How we guide your recovery
A phased approach to getting back
Post-surgical rehabilitation is not one-size-fits-all. Each phase of recovery has specific goals — protecting healing tissue early on, building strength in the middle phase, and restoring full functional capacity toward the end. Felicia coordinates with your surgeon's protocol and adjusts the pace based on how your body is actually responding.
Early sessions focus on pain management, swelling reduction, and restoring gentle range of motion. As healing progresses, the programme shifts toward progressive strengthening, neuromuscular control, and scar tissue management. Manual therapy and dry needling are used to address surrounding muscle tightness that often develops as a compensatory response.
The final phase is about confidence and function — ensuring you can return to daily activities, work, or sport with trust in your body and without fear of re-injury.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
When should I start physiotherapy after surgery?
Usually within the first 1–2 weeks post-operation, once your surgeon gives clearance. Early rehabilitation is critical — it prevents muscle atrophy, reduces scar tissue formation, and gets your joints moving before stiffness sets in. We coordinate with your surgeon's protocol.
Do I need a referral from my surgeon?
Not to book with us. However, it's helpful to bring your surgical report or discharge notes so Felicia understands the specific procedure performed, any hardware used (pins, plates, grafts), and your surgeon's post-op restrictions.
How is post-surgical rehabilitation different from regular physiotherapy?
Post-surgical rehab must respect healing tissue timelines — bone, ligament, and tendon grafts each have specific windows within which certain loads and movements are safe. Felicia follows evidence-based post-operative protocols while adapting them to your individual progress.
What if I live in Subang Jaya, Damansara, or nearby areas?
Many of our post-surgical patients travel from Subang Jaya, Damansara Utama, Tropicana, and Bandar Utama. Our clinic in Oasis Square, Ara Damansara is easily accessible from the Damansara–Puchong Expressway (LDP) and the NKVE.
